Project Title: LOCAL-SATS

Overview
LOCAL-SATS aims to support the design and implementation of policies which optimize sustainable urban development processes. The project targets local administrations by providing them with flexible tools and geospatial applications to improve territorial management.

General Objective

To improve local governance processes through the exchange of good practices, pilot actions, and training in geospatial technologies.

Expected Achievements

• Enhanced regional consensus on the use of geospatial technologies by local administrations through gap analysis, roadmaps, and performance indicators.

• Developed a common geospatial paradigm for delivering quality services to citizens by public administrations.

• Adoption and implementation of a Decision Support System integrated with a Geographic Information System (DSS-GIS) for policy design, progress tracking, and impact assessment.

• Strengthened capacities of local administrations in the use of geospatial applications.

• Improved governance processes at the local level through exchange of experience among administrations.
