Overview
Project Title: Youth E-Participation for Democratic Engagement
General Objective:
To strengthen the capacity of partner organizations and their members for youth e-participation in democratic life and foster their involvement in policy-making through digital strategies and tools.
Background and Rationale:
Young people are increasingly connected through digital platforms, where they express opinions, mobilize, and advocate. However, they remain underrepresented in formal politics and often lack understanding of democratic systems. E-participation, leveraging ICT and social media, presents a key opportunity to empower youth, enhance their engagement in civic life, and create direct channels with decision-makers.
Specific Objectives:
SO1: Highlight the importance of youth e-participation and equip participants with practical knowledge on applying and transferring digital solutions to youth engagement at all governance levels.
SO2: Explore and evaluate digital tools to enhance youth-friendly participation across diverse contexts.
SO3: Strengthen the capacity of youth workers and CSOs to guide young people in using e-participation tools and engaging in democratic processes.
SO4: Raise awareness among youth on e-participation and e-democracy, and create more opportunities for local-level engagement.
SO5: Promote youth e-participation values and enhance transnational collaboration through shared experiences and practices.
Expected Results:
Increased knowledge and use of youth e-participation tools.
Greater inclusion of youth voices in local, national, and European decision-making processes.
Strengthened capacity of youth organizations to promote participatory democracy.
Target Groups:
Young people and youth activists
Youth workers and civil society organizations
Local, regional, and national decision-makers
Educational and policy institutions
