š¹ Project Overview

EU Contribution:Ā ā¬ 2.269,900 (89%)
Programme:Ā Interreg NEXT MED Programme, co-funded by the European Union
Project Duration:Ā 30 months (December 2025 ā Jun 2028)
Partner Countries:Ā Italy, Spain, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey
In the Mediterranean region, agriculture is vulnerable, and sustainability is always under threat. Drawing inspiration from the innovative practices of pioneering Italian and Spanish partners, cutting-edge circular economy models will be used to revolutionize waste management.
The ORIENTATE project will develop targeted solutions to waste streams generated by olive oil extraction and citrus fruit processing. It will establish three pilot labs in Jordan, TĆ¼rkiye, and Lebanon, each focusing on converting agricultural by-products like Citrus Pulp Depectinized (CPD) and Olive pomace into animal feed and cosmetics ingredients, promoting a circular economy.
š¹ Assignment Scope
PDA is launching this call for expressions of interest to recruit anĀ External Auditor FirmĀ for expenditure verification in accordance with Interreg NEXT MED Programme rules.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying delivery of goods/services and performance of works
- Confirming eligibility and payment of declared expenses
- Ensuring compliance with procurement, visibility, and grant rules
- Detecting double funding and ensuring adequate documentation
- Performing on-site verification at least once during the project
- Using the official Monitoring System and Programme EVR templates
- Submitting Expenditure Verification Reports (EVR) to the JS/MA
š¹ Eligibility and Requirements
- Integrity:No legal, financial, or ethical restrictions (declaration required)
- Professionalism:Registered with LACPA for at least 3 years with long experience in EU projects.
- Independence:No current or recent business/management links with PDA
- Language:Working knowledge of English is required
š¹ Terms
- Contract Duration:30 months
- Maximum Fee:ā¬10,000 (gross, all-inclusive)
- Duty Station:PDA Headquarters ā Ras Baalbek, Lebanon (verification will include on-site visits)
- Deliverables:5 reports (4 interim + 1 final)
